Weirdest of 2015

In the previous installation of this series we looked at both winners and losers of 2015.

In this article we will instead look at some rather strange behaviors in Tibia. Let's get weird!

o.O o.O o.O Player who has changed sex the most o.O o.O o.O

This year's winner in the category of players who's had the most sex changes is Tai Yong@Secura with a total of +12 sex changes in 2015.

However, last year's winner, Potrosh@Olympa, still remains the all time winner with a total of +13 sex changes in a given year.

We support you Tai Yong and accept you just like you are. What matters is you are happy about who you are. :)

Some players just can't stick to one guild. They are free spirits in the Tibian world. The player that has changed guild/guild rank most frequently in 2015 is Xalusz@Morta with a total of +42 changes. Xalusz has been a member of a total of 19 guilds and has had 18 different ranks.

^^; ^^; ^^; Player who has moved worlds the most ^^; ^^; ^^;

Why stay in one world when you can examine a bunch of them? These nomads move from world to world. What are they looking for? Will they ever find what they're looking for? Well, ask Duu Mito@Unitera who has moved between a total of +8 worlds in 2015, from Pacera -> Luminera -> Calmera -> Honera -> Unitera -> Magera -> Calmera -> Magera -> Unitera.

Player who has changed vocation the most

The player that has changed vocation the most in 2015 is Don Afga@Neptera with a total of +17 vocation changes, alternating between Knight and Elite Knight. Don's new year resolution should probably be to buy one year's premium, it will save him a lot of time and money! Just saying ;)

<3 <3 <3 Player who has married and divorced the most <3 <3 <3

For last we have saved the holy coupling between Tibians, in marriage. Except in this case it's not quite holy! Some players fall in and out of marriages almost out of whim. Or maybe they have a reason for this?

The player...

2015 has been another interesting year for Tibia. Here we will have a look at the winners and losers of this year.

Player with the highest level

The player that gathered the most levels so far is (unsurprisingly): Kharsek@Pacera, with the impressive level 940. Kharsek has collected +125 levels since last year. Next year will probably be an exciting time for Tibia, if Kharsek reaches the much sought-after level 1000!

:star: :star: :star: Players that have earned the most levels :star: :star: :star:

Our shooting stars of 2015 are no less than 3. The list below does NOT include deleted players. Here they are:

  • Sun Demoniac@Hydera: +344 levels (from level 80 to 424)
  • Ilnz@Inferna: +327 levels (from level 122 to 449)
  • Tutahnkamun@Justera: +307 levels (from level 147 to 454)

Player with the highest achievement points

Regz Elite@Honera almost came out from nowhere and now has all together 974 achievement points.

Last year's winner was Zorebex who has now collected 964 achievement points. Even if not winner of this year, he might take revenge next year? Let's get to work!

Weirdest of 2014

In the previous installation of this series we looked at which players are the winners and which are the losers of 2014.

Then there are those players that went beyond levels and achievement points. Players that have achieved the nirvana we like to call The Weird.

Without much further ado, here they are:

Player who has changed sex the most

So right off the bat, which player is the most indecisive when it comes to which sex it belongs to? Turns out to be Potrosh@Olympa with a total of +13 sex changes in 2014.

Player who has changed guild/guild rank most frequently

Some players just can't stick to one guild. They are free spirits in the Tibian world. The player that has changed guild/guild rank most frequently in 2014 is General Savas@Calva with a total of +41 changes.

Player who has moved worlds the most

Some players are free spirits in another sense, nomads that don't quite feel that they belong, moving from world to world. Will they ever find what they are looking for? Well, ask Lius Kion@Rowana who has moved between a total of +6 worlds in 2014, from Antica -> Eternia -> Rowana -> Selena -> Calva -> Bellona -> Rowana.

Player who has changed vocation the most

The player that has changed vocation the most in 2014 is Bass Mastehplan@Garnera with a total of +17 vocation changes, alternating between Paladin and Royal Paladin.

Player who has married and divorced the most

For last we have saved the holy coupling between Tibians, in marriage. Except in this case it's not quite holy! Some players fall in and out of marriages almost out of whim. Or maybe they have a reason for this?

The player that has married/divorced the most is Flad Loco@Aurea, a total of +35 times, having mainly been married/divorced to/from Sarah Loca.

Player with the highest level

The player that garnered the most levels so far is (unsurprisingly): Kharsek@Pacera, with the astounding level 815! If this player keeps up the pace, we will see at least level 900 some time next year!

Our shooting stars of 2014 are no less than 3, including:

  • Elruh@Olympa: +254 levels (from level 198 to 452)

OK, so we know who has the most achievement points, but which players have collected the most this year? Well, it turns out to be...

Hmm, looks like Zorebex has some more competition in 2015!

Research Article: Ghastly Dragon Task

article-ghastly-banner.png

Ghastly Dragon is the perfect monster for paladins: great loot, weak to physical/holy, drops soul orbs (which can be exchanged for infernal bolts), runs around fire walls, and much more.

In this article we'll detail the hunting of ghastly dragons: how profitable is it really to hunt it? What are the best tactics? When can one start to hunt it? These questions and many more will be answered here.

Also note, that this article is primarily written for royal paladins. The recorded hunts have been done on a level 230~ RP with 111 distance fighting and 93 shielding, however, these statistics shouldn't be very different for a level 100 something RP.

A recipe for success

Ghastly Dragons' natural habitat is in Zao, more specifically, the Zao Ghastly Dragon Cave. In order to get access to this place, the player has to finish WOTE mission 1.

So, what kind of supplies do you need? For a 2 hour solo session you'll need the following items:
  • 2k crystalline arrows or prismatic bolts (40k)
  • 400 - 550 SMP (32-44k)
  • 70 Fire walls (~4k)
  • 30 Flasks of Rust Removers (~1.8k)
  • Magic Walls (not necessary, but good to have)
  • Soft Boots (~5k)
  • Life Rings/Ring of Healing (5-10k)

This all adds up to around 90k in supplies.

Strategies

A few combat strategies are necessary when fighting ghastlies.
  • You need to be at least level 80 so you can purchase Cure Curse (exana mort). This is a life saver and what makes ghastlies mainly hunted by paladins. Remember though, one ghastly can easily combo you at this level, so be careful, or wait until you're around level 120+ before you go against these beasts.
  • Ghastlys run around fire walls, so be sure to throw walls at places which forces the ghastly to walk diagonally. This will considerably slow down their attacks. Look at some of the images here for good places to throw fire walls.
  • The way to the cave is paved with soul eaters, mutated rats, mutated bats, and a few blobs. You can easily get surrounded on your way there, so be sure to run...

Research Article: Demon Oak Task (a.k.a. 6666 Task)

article-demon-banner.png

Introduction

In this article I will detail my experience with going against the infamous Demon Task - putting 6666 demons out of their misery. The task started in November last year and took me until around the end of February this year to finish.

Some Task Details

I played on a Royal Paladin (level 202) and my weapon of choice was Royal crossbow + Prismatic bolts at the beginning.

After a few hunts I changed to Warsinger bow + Crystalline arrows to get a higher average damage output, but also because Warsinger bow gives one extra SQM distance (7 SQM, as opposed to Royal crossbow which has 6 SQM).

Moving on from there I used Divine Missile (exori san) and at times Divine Caldera (exevo mas san) to clear out summons and do some extra damage to demons. The average money spent on each hunt was 110k, and each hunt lasted about 2 hours (enough for me to use up my 2h stamina bonus). The majority of hunts were done with stamina bonus almost the entire hunt, towards the end it would go back to normal exp.

The tasks were done at any of the two yala spawns under hellspawns/plagues.

I spent a total of 166 hours on the hunt - which is equal to 6.92 days of non stop hunting. My average demon kill rate was 40 kills/hour (note: many times I usually hunted right before SS, which is a slow respawn time). Also, this task was done on the optional PvP game world Secura.

To Make Money you need to Spend Money

As mentioned, I've spent around 110k on each hunt, which includes:
  • 550 Strong Mana Potions (44k)
  • 70 Strong Health Potions (7k)
  • 100 Great Spirit Potions (18k)
  • 1700-1900 Crystalline Arrows (34k)
  • 1-2 Energy Soils (~3k)
  • 9 Life Rings (~5k)
  • Soft Boots (2 hours=5k)

Total: 110-115k

Some of these items were purchased off the market (e.g. spirit and health potions). Also, some people may choose to use only SMP - it's just a matter of personal preference, really. I don't feel like healing constantly, which is why I also bring a few GSP, as well as using exura gran...
